Internet is probably one of the greatest invention of all time which offers entertainment, allows free communication, information access and most important of all, opportunities to make money online. Today, I came upon another new, perhaps fun way to make money online - Scratchback.
Scratchback is an online “tipping” system which allows you, the publisher, to accept tips and “give back” links or images in return. It requires only 30 seconds of your precious time to sign up and activate your account.
How it works?

It was Oct 23 when I started placing Widgetbucks ads on my site and it proves to be another income generating program for me. I am expecting a cheque from them by end of January since I have already met the minimum cash out amount of $50.
Psst! Grab this opportunity -
When you sign-up with WidgetBucks, you’ll automatically receive a $25 bonus into your account to get the ball rolling. This means you are half way to your first payout with WidgetBucks.
Why January 2008 when you earned more than $50 in November 2007?
Widgetbucks send out cheques for all revenue earned within 45 days after the end of each month, as long as you’ve earned a minimum of $50. For example, if you signed up for WidgetBucks in November, you would receive your first commission payment within 45 days of Nov. 30, approximately mid January.

Although this ‘achievement’ is nothing to shout about, it serves as a point for me to begin an experiment in increasing my blog’s Alexa Rank.

You may ask.. what is Alexa Rank?
Alexa Rank is a ranking system that basically audits and makes public the frequency of visits to various Web sites. The algorithm by which Alexa traffic ranking is calculated, is simple. It is based on the amount of traffic recorded over a period of three months from users that have the Alexa toolbar installed.
I stumbled upon an interesting article from Maki on how you can improve your Alexa Rank and decided to give it a try. He listed 20 quick ways to improve the ranking.. some which require monetary investment. So, using “new blogger” as an excuse
, I will try out 6 of the methods that are FREE of charge :- (more…)

Google Adsense has rolled out its new ad management feature which allow publishers to manage ad units from within their account. However, some may not be able to experience this feature as Google is rolling this feature in phases.
According to Inside Adsense:-
This new ad management feature means that your ad unit settings (such as colors and channels) for new AdSense for content ad units will be saved in your AdSense account every time you generate ad code. Then, if you’d like to change any of these settings in the future, all you do is make the update within your account — you’ll no longer need to manually replace the ad code on all of your pages. For instance, you can quickly change the borders of all your 300×250 medium rectangles from red to blue with just a few mouse clicks. Fancy! We hope that this new feature will help you save time and will simplify the process of optimizing your ad units.
How do I find out if this feature is available for me?
Login into your Adsense account and click on Adsense Setup tab. If it is available for you, you will see “Manage Ads” link in your the sub menu.
If you prefer to stick to your “old” style of managing your ad units, you may do so as the old version of code will continue to work. You can read more about this new feature here or see it in action by viewing the video below.

There is another common mistake I would like to add to my previous entries - 18 Common Mistakes that violate Google Adsense Terms. It is regarding “Google Brand Features” issue.
I applied for an Adsense account for this blog and was surprised that they rejected my application with the following reason:-
Google Brand Features: We’ve found that you’re using Google Brand Features, including Google trademarks, logos, webpages, screen shots, or other distinctive features on your site or in your URL. As a result, we’re unable to accept this site into the AdSense program for the time being.
