GrabMyAds – Malaysia’s 3rd blog advertising community

Posted by Kenji on 17 December 2007 13 Comments

.. after Nuffnang and Advertlets, that is! I got to know GrabMyAds when they invited me to join their network via email. Hmmm… where did they GrabMyEmail in the first place? :P

Grabmyads

I wrote a short email to GMA to enquire if they accept non-blog websites as publishers and to my surprise, I received a reply from them in less than 24 hours. Not bad for a new startup company.. unlike my experience with the other 2 blog ad networks.

  • Nuffnang – Slow at first but now it is getting better.
  • Advertlets – Slow as well and it is getting worse.

Their service impresses me and I signed up with them immediately. ( Update: Check out Comment #6.. from GMA’s representative )

GrabMyAds lists 5 reasons why we should join them but those reasons are nothing new:-

  1. No traffic qualification
  2. Real time statistic, detailed reports about your blog
  3. More income, no fixed amount for every ad units
  4. Payment in local currency – Ringgit Malaysia
  5. Smartly serves FALL BACK advertisement to “Global Ads” when your blog does not have target graphical ads.

If you have any questions regarding GrabMyAds, you can first read their FAQs here before email them at info [at] grabmyads [dot] com.

I can only suggest you to give them a try and see if it works for you. Or you can subscribe to my blog and I will keep you updated.

Good, more options to make money!

Kenji says:

Yeah, hopefully they will learn from the mistakes made by Nuffnang and Advertlets.

Wayne Liew says:

Local advertising needs something like Google Adsense, something which is at least text-based to take off. Graphical ads are not suitable for most informational blogs.

I am sure you don’t want to see ads of restaurants on your, for example, IT blog.

Also, visitors are somehow blind about banner ads nowadays and all these startups normally ahve the same ads all over the place which will make the “blind” more serious.

Anyway, won’t be signing up and I shall see what they can do. An idea about their CEO? Does he has a blog or something like Josh and Timothy?

MerDuriaN says:

I signed as GMA member already but I still don’t dare to publish on my blog yet I never see any GMA ads from any blogs before

Kenji says:

@Wayne : Yes, you are right and I am expecting that to happen but it seems advertisers in Malaysia prefer to have graphical ads instead.. well i assume it is more value for money to them :P I do not have information on person behind GMA. Hmmm, maybe I should send him an email.

@MerDuriaN: I have placed it on my other site… let see how it goes. Will keep you update.

Alex says:

Thats great that you got a local advertising company. You still uses Google Adsense aswell. So which one makes more for you Google Adsens or Nuffang ? And can Nuffang pay other than malaysia aswell ?

Wong says:

Thanks for the tip. I’ve been looking so hard for companies to advertise. This post gave me the right idea on advertising companies. Thanks a million! Btw, visit my blog please and can you help me see what i should improve on? Thanks.

Kenji says:

GrabMyAds is no longer in business.. guess you can opt for Google Adsense or Nuffnang. I have visited your blog.. it is kinda dark.. i don’t like dark background blog.. :P
