Free Web Hosting

If you want to host your own blog but do not want fork out too much for it, then this website, FreeWebHosting.com is perfect for you. Reading the domain name itself, you should roughly know that you DO NOT need to pay for the hosting service provided by them. The only catch is there will be an unobtrusive footer link automatically inserted into the footer of each page… probably “Free Web Hosting by FreeWebHosting247.com“.

Here are the specifications for the free hosting plan and I must say that it is a pretty generous plan. It includes my favourite control panel, Cpanel and Fantastico which allows you to “automagically” install popular web applications (i.e. WordPress, phpBB Forum, OsCommerce) on your website in seconds:-

  • 500MB Web Space
  • 10GB Data Transfer
  • PHP5/MySQL/CGI/Crons
  • UNLIMITED MySQL Databases
  • UNLIMITED Addon Domain Names
  • UNLIMITED FTP Accounts
  • UNLIMITED E-Mail Accounts
  • cPanel/Fantastico
  • UNLIMITED Parked Domains
  • UNLIMITED Subdomains
  • UNLIMITED Email Autoresponders
  • UNLIMITED Email Forwarders

To enjoy this hosting service for free, I have highlighted some important rules that you will need to follow/fulfil:-

  1. You may not remove, resize so as to render invisible or unreadable, or otherwise block the link that FreeWebHosting247.com inserts onto your web pages
  2. Your website must be in English
  3. Your page should be active – that is, it is either receiving ‘hits’ or is being updated/posted to. Sites that either receive no hits or are not updated over a period of 60 days will be considered ‘inactive’ and may be removed by FreeWebHosting247.com to make room for other users
  4. You may not use your web space to provide material, or links to material, that is grossly offensive to the Web community. This includes: Blatant expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity
  5. You may not use unsolicited email to promote your site

You can find the rest of the terms and conditions here.

I have signed up an account with them to host one of my smaller site and at the same time, to check out the performance of their server. :P You may want to give them a try.

Rice Blogger says:

this is a great service for those to try out the hosting feature…but not good for long term blogging because you are adding value to their domain rather than your own domain.

keeyit says:

indeed, good service from them..

sigh.. mine one just down few days recently !

Kenji says:

@Rice Blogger : I agree. It is for temporary. If anyone wants to be a successful blogger, they need a hosting that can support much more traffics :D

@keeyit: Days?? I thought this kind of case will never happen anymore since it is so competitive out there. You should change your hosting provider

Akif Farhan says:

Is there any difference between the website loading speed when it is hosted on a free webhost and on a paid webhost..?? kindly reply
