DiGi, a mobile service provider in Malaysia, has reached an agreement with Apple Inc yesterday to distribute iPhone in Malaysia. According to DiGi’s website, the iPhone from DiGi will be launched within the first half of 2010 and rates and packages will be revealed after the launch date has been announced. With DiGi joining the iPhone race now, it will definitely spice up the competition and will eventually brings down the cost of owning an iPhone… I hope.

i personally don’t expect Celcom Axiata to offer iPhone (within these few month at least), due to both parties (Celcom & Apple) could not agreed on.

They have been talking since two years ago, Celcom wan’t to offer cheap price/plan for the device (like they do with their Blackberry offer) but then again Apple would not compromise on price.

That is why Celcom not serious to bring iPhone and focus on Blackberry, but with DiGi recently offer iPhone, Celcom might need to change their mind again.

@epool86

Celcom should join iPhone race as soon as possible because 42.5 million units of iPhone were sold it was launched in summer 2007.
