Hotmail Newest Feature: Email Aliases

Posted by Kenji on 5 February 2011 0 Comment

Microsoft introduces their latest Hotmail feature, email aliases, that allows existing Hotmail/Live users to create a completely new Hotmail/Live email address without going through the registration process again. In other words, the new email address will be tied to your primary account and all emails sent to the new address can be set to go to your inbox orĀ  a new folder.

Windows Live and Hotmail users can create up to five aliases to their Hotmail account per year, up to fifteen total.

How to create new aliases for your Hotmail/Live email account?

1. Log into your Hotmail account. Rollover “Inbox” and click the icon on the right. Select “Create a Hotmail alias”.

2. Key in the email ID and then select whether you would like to have hotmail.com or live.com.

3. You will be prompted to select where to store emails of the email alias – inbox or a new folder.

4. That’s all. This is what it looks like if you select a new folder to store the emails.
