Eye-Fi - Wifi your Digital Camera

Eyefi

Eye-Fi is a SD memory card which adds Wifi to your digital camera and allows you to upload pictures directly to your computer or to your favorite photo sharing, printing, blogging or social networking site (i.e. Flickr, Facebook, Snapfish and more). Yes, get it all done without CABLES!

According to Gizmodo

…The Eye-Fi works flawlessly. Setup takes roughly five minutes (you program the card through your computer and bundled card reader). From there, you simply snap pics in the range of your router, and chances are, by the time you go back to your computer, the pictures will be viewable. If your router dies, you turn off your camera, or even if you take out the card and put it back in, the photos will upload when you get things sorted out again. It’s actually a normal 2GB memory card underneath all of the other functionality and can work as such.

If you are willing to pay USD 100 for a 2GB Eye-Fi Card, then it is something worth adding into your wishlist for the coming Christmas!

  • Eneloop

Recently, I bought a pack of 2 AA Eneloop rechargeable batteries to power my wireless mouse. As any wireless optical mouse user knows, batteries don’t last too long in mice — 3 months if you’re a lightweight, 1 1/2 months if you spend a lot of time on your computer. Therefore, buying a rechargeable battery seems to be a good investment as it has the advantage of being more cost-efficient over the long term.

So, what I like about Eneloop?

    1. Immediate Use
You can use it right after you unwrap the batteries.
    2. Low self discharge
Once charges, eneloop will lose only about 15% of their charge after a year of non-use.

      Eneloop

    3. Can be charged 10 100 1000 times!
The retail price for a pack of 2 AA alkaline batteries and a pack of 2 AA Eneloop rechargeable batteries is RM 6 and RM 38 respectively. So, assuming that the Eneloop batteries can last only a quarter of what Sanyo claims (250 times) , I save RM 1462 (RM 6 x 250 - RM 38). :D

  • Lazy to blog? Get a PaPeRo

    Papero Robots

We have robots that do housework, robots that dance, robots for video conferencing etc etc and guess what.. now we have robots that blog for you. All you need to do is to talk to them. Freaky isn’t it?

NEC Corporation announced development of a new system for automatically creating multi-media blogs. The new system has been developed on NEC’s prototype robot PaPeRo, and is initialized when a user begins a conversation with PaPeRo about the events of their day, which the system then records and analyzes. Following this, PaPeRo searches for suitable multi-media contents on the internet, including images, illustrations and music, which are automatically uploaded and edited along with the video recording on the user’s blog.
