The attack, which requires possession of your iPhone, can be done in 3 rather simple steps:-

1. Jailbreak the iPhone using software tools widely available on the Internet.

2. Install SSH Server on the iPhone.

3. Copy a keychain access script to the iPhone. It will retrieve the keychain entries and output your “precious” information to the attacker.

While a stylus pen and hard keyboard are included with every iPhone, its state of the art user interface does not require the use of either of these devices. Most experienced iPhone users know all the tricks to getting around their phones, though new users need a little bit of time to get used to it all. If you’re brand new to iPhones, one of the most useful tips on using the touch screen is the double tap.

Just like everything else associated with the iPhone, double tapping is an extremely convenient way of manipulating things like images, maps, videos, web sites, or emails. For example, if you are looking at pictures, double tap the screen to zoom into the photo you are currently viewing and again to zoom back out. If you’re looking at a map, double tapping the screen will also zoom in while double tapping will zoom back out.

Considering one of the biggest features of the iPhone is its touch screen interface, it is common knowledge that single tapping any icon will direct you through folders and applications, though many are unaware that double tapping the screen at times will activate a different command altogether.

One example would be the above, which is to double tap images and such to zoom in and out. Another example would be while watching movies. If you double tap the screen while it is displaying a letterbox image (portions of the top and bottom of the screen are blacked out), the video will switch to a full screen image and therefore a bigger image. This feature may not work well with subtitled and other such videos since words may get cut off the screen. Also, if you’re viewing a web page that has images, you can magnify the image by twice its size if you double tap it.

Basically, the main use of double tapping items in your iPhone will lead to zooming in and out or enhancing its view. This is such a handy tool as it eliminates having to go through menus to change the views around. It saves time and enhances browsing, making the iPhone an even more incredible piece of technology than it already is. DiGi, a mobile service provider in Malaysia, has reached an agreement with Apple Inc yesterday to distribute iPhone in Malaysia. According to DiGi’s website, the iPhone from DiGi will be launched within the first half of 2010 and rates and packages will be revealed after the launch date has been announced. With DiGi joining the iPhone race now, it will definitely spice up the competition and will eventually brings down the cost of owning an iPhone… I hope.
