WordPress releases 3.0.4 – Important Security Update

According to WordPress.org, version 3.0.4 is a very important update to apply to your sites as soon as possible because it fixes a core security bug in our HTML sanitation library, called KSES. WordPress 2.9.2 – Upgrade now!

WordPress has just released version 2.9.2 to fix a bug where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2. As always, you can visit the Tools->Upgrade menu to upgrade.

Regular WordPress users should know by now that WordPress 2.3.1 was released 4 days ago. The news is listed on your WordPress Dashboard as well as a short announcement (see below) bugging you on every page of your admin panel:

This upgrade fixes over twenty bugs. Some of the notable fixes are:

Tagging support for Windows Live Writer
Fixes for a login bug that affected those with a Blog Address different than
their WordPress Address
Faster taxonomy database queries, especially tag intersection queries
Link importer fixes
